Topic: RE: smpt 553 terminating connection as the sender is spoofed
I hope this will clarify everything;
If a user had an account on the olddomain.com, and then a new account was
set up on newdomain.com, what I do is set up forwarding on the olddomain.com
account to the newdomain.com account. So if a sender sends an e-mail to the
Old account it is forwarded on to the newdomain.com account to prevent the
user from managing two e-mail accounts. This works beatifully with the one
exception if a user in newdomain.com sends an e-mail to the olddomain.com the
message is rejected with the spoofing error. I think because it is being sent
from newdomain.com to olddomain.com to be forwarded back to newdomain.com.

RE: smpt 553 terminating connection as the sender is spoofed
Hi,
I am a bit confused now. You said "What we do is set up the user on the new
exchange server and then forward messages from the old exchange server to
the new one" in the first post. And you said "There are not any connectors
associated since they are truly on separate domains" in the latest post. I
suppose the old domain is old.com and the new domain is new.com. Then how
do you make the mails to *@old.com forwarded to *@new.com? Could you tell
me the details?
Thanks.

RE: smpt 553 terminating connection as the sender is spoofed
Hi,
I see. Thank you for your explanation.
For the further research, please send me the MPS report and ExBPA report of
both Exchange servers:
Collect MPS report
===================================
1. Access the following URL:
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=cebf3c7c-7ca5-408f
-88b7-f9c79b7306c0&displaylang=en>
2. Download MPSRPT_Exchange.EXE and execute the exe file.
3. Please send the resulting file (CAB file) to me at
v-jochen@microsoft.com.
Collect ExBPA report
===================================
1. To download ExBPA, visit the web link below:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=dbab201f-4bee-4943-

2. When you start this tool it first tries to connect to the Internet to
check for updates. After the check, you can choose "select options for a
new scan" to initialize the process, then follow the steps to have a Heath
Check. At last, after completing the scanning, click "Export report" to
save the report as XML file, then send the file to me for further research:
v-jochen@microsoft.com.
Please use "smpt 553 terminating connection as the sender is spoofed" as
the title of your emails. Thanks!
